I'm looking to buy a JVC GR-D93 MiniDV camera in teh next week or two. http://www.camcorderinfo.com shows that it DOES have a analog to Digital passthrough feature.
I downloaded the manual for the camera it shows you can hook up a camera or vcr and record to the tape. It mentions nothing about a passthrough. Am I to assume that when you hook up a VCR or other source to the input and have the firewire or av to the PC hooked up it will pass the footage through or do I have to put it to tape first?
Sorry if this is a stupid question. I've never used a dv camera before.
Thanks!!

My friend bought a (PAL) JVC MiniDV a year ago.
It has DV/Analog in and it can also be used as a passthrough.
So it will probably work ok with the newer models too. -
It would seem so but only the JVC help line could could answer such a question unless someone here happened to own that model.
Did you think to try a JVC user forum or epinions, if not the JVC 800 number? -
