I wish we separate these sales posts into regions , and then cities if need be. Looking at the prices on those discs I assume its american, but theres not way to tell into everyone starts asking "in CAN $$ or AMC."

Ridata 8x 100 pack with $12 usd rebate.
    Limit 2 on the rebate.
And 40% off second day air.
Freeshipping on the disks but the coupon expires on 1/31

( I'm not sure about listing the price. Site rules and all).

  3. In the U.S. check out http://www.salescircular.com/. Just choose your state and then choose the category you are interested in.
It doesn't matter who you vote for. The government always gets in.

Those are USA stores, and you can always check the person's location.
It's obviously not Canadian. Their "BEST BUY" is called "FUTURESHOP".

  6. Out of this list I know that the Japanese Fujis are TY, which other brands are other discs? For example I've heard some Verbatims are MCC.
Which other brands here rank in the highest quality category?
Please also let us know what to watch out for, for example: watch out for Fujis made in Taiwan.

You are one of the lucky ones. I went to four stores and they only had the Taiwan ones. Must have looked at over 200 packs.

Maxell are TY sometimes aren't they? And I have heard good things about the Maxell media that ins't TY too. I never get Maxell because they are usually way too expensive.

Yeah, Maxell 4x DVD-R is sometimes TYG02, sometimes MXLRG02. It's possible to differentiate between the two before buying if you know what to look for. I believe all of the 8x media (+ and -) carry Maxell media codes. I've had some iffy batches of the 8x discs though. I think Maxell has different production lines and we're not getting the best discs here in the US for the retail spindles. The Maxell Pro and High Grade media seems good though, but expensive.

if you're getting MAXELL DVD-R media 4x or 8x speed discs just look on the label if it says, "MADE IN JAPAN", then those are the ones to purchase.

if you're getting MAXELL DVD+R 4x or 8x speed discs the label will say, " MADE IN TAIWAN" which the media code will be RICOH for 4x speed and 8x speed will be MAXELL 002.....

    they're not unmarked fakes......
