Hi im hopeing someone can help me i have videos in .avi format with vbr audio and i want to encode them to mpeg. recently I had a small peice of software that coverted the audio from vbr to cbr without having to seperate the audio from the video I lost it when i recently reformated my hardrive but i can't remember where i got it from or what it was called. If any body knows what the software is please let me no what it is and where i can get it from. due to me losing this I have tried using virtual dub to change the audio to .wav but when i try to save the audio back with the video as .wav it saves the video back as an .avi file at something stupid like 78gb am i making a stupid mistake or shouldn't it be doing that.

Be sure to set Video->Direct stream copy in virtualdub or the avi video will be converted to uncompressed = several gig.

Load AVI in Goldwave, save wav.
Load AVI in VirtualDub, select WAV audio, select your wav.
    Set Video, direct stream.
Set audio, full processing, select VBR MP3 @desired bitrate under Compression.
    Save AVI.
    Done.
