I was trying to encode my Star Wars Episode 6 DVD to divx with AUTOGK. I ripped only one angle using the latest versions of DVD Decrypter and Smartripper and it ripped successfully. And then I loaded it into AUTOGK.
It demuxes and indexes and then encodes the audio fine but when it gets into the compression testing part it only gets about 70% done and then my computer slows down and then my computer restarts. This has never happened before with my other dvds that I have encoded to divx including Star Wars episode 4 and 5. Have I done something wrong with the ripping? Thanks for looking.

Reboots like this are almost always hardware related... I agree, probably a heat issue (could be a stick of RAM going bad too).

I am sure that it is not a heat issue because my cpu does not get any hotter than 38C and I just run memtest to test the memory and everything checks out alright. This is the first time that this has happened and I have done about 35 encodes of my dvds without any problems like this. Could this be a ripping problem? Thanks.
