I am new to all this and I want to be able to capture from tivo to dvd or cd, camcorder to dvd or cd and convert some vhs tapes to dvd.
I'm not sure which is the best way to go. Some say firewire and some say video capture card. I want to capture the best quality to burn. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons to either way of capturing video?
Thanks to all in advance.

There's no best way..... what it really depends on at least for hardware is how deep are your pockets, you can spend $10 or $10,000.
