  1. did everything like before, but this time right after virtual dub finishes indexing, an error msg came up

"error parsing index file: line 188 (reindexing)"

and the process repeats itself...i have no idea wut the problem is because i've added subs to other movies with no probs.....

btw...i also ripped it twice to make sure it wasn't a ripping prob...everything seems to check out (the .vobs and .ifo file)

  4. vobsub blows up on me every other day. it's quite normal so i'd look for another way to do your subs. i typically convert to srt format & feed that to vobsub

  7. hrm...how am i supposed to "feed" the .srt file into vobsub...the website that Truman linked to didn't indicate how to do that....

  8. i typically use subrip. the newer versions of vobsub should accept srt format directly. you'll find srt>vobsub conversion tools if you search around as well

hrm...so in vobsub, do i open the .srt file rather than the .ifo file...how does vobsub "accept" the srt file?

I can not believe, that you can convert a .srt file to a .sub, that you can use for vobsub. Either you rip the subs with subrip, convert .srt to .ssa and use Avery Lee's subtitler http://www.vcdhelp.com/srtsubsvirtual.htm
    or you use vobsub.
If vobsub start to reindex (never happened to me), does it reindexing forever or did you abort the task soon? Make sure, smartripper created a idx.file.

  11. well...i e-mailed the author of vob sub and he examined the .idx file for me....it seems like the vobs still have some multi-angles in them...i ripped Bridget Jones with both smartripper and dvddecryptor with multi-angle processing enabled on both...
