  1. I'm trying to convert some pictures to AVI so I can use Adobe Premiere Elements to add and edit audio before converting to mpg with TMPGEnc. I've tried SSMM and the regular production works but leaves a pulsating look to bright colors. I keep tryin the final production but the program crashes after the first few pictures.

I then tried Proshow Gold but you cannot export to AVI which is important to me because the DVD I'm making will consist of 2 other video files and another avi with pictures. Transitions are nice but not important at this time.

Anyone know of something that can help me with this?

    Thanks

Soften or blur the images slightly in an image editor before importing them.

I had the same problem with playback on DVD after importing stills into Premier, encoding with TMPGEnc etc.

The solution I found on some threads in this forum is to save the pictures at a resolution no more than DVD resolution. eg I live in PAL land so I ensure that the H or W doesn't exceed the PAL resolution.

I use PhotoShop to do this as I expect it has good "re-resolution" routines.

    That stopped the shimmer.
