  1. Hello

    I'm going crazy!

I have two wedding dvds that I want to convert into mpegs and then edit together in Ulead Videostudio 8.

I have used TMPGEnc DVD Author and the mpegs convert fine. The first file is a pal file and ulead can read it ok. The second one is ntsc and has AC3 sound. I bought the AC3 plugin for TMPGEnc and it works.

But in Ulead, the audio doesn't work for this new mpeg file! The picture is ok, but no sound!

I can' find anywhere how to solve this problem. I like Ulead and want to use it, and have even changed the project settings to be the same as the mpeg NTSC file, but still it can't hear the audio.

Please tell me what I've done wrong. Perhaps I will have to convert the original dvd into a wav file and import that? How would I do that please? Which software would I use to get a wav file out of the dvd audio?

Thank you for any help, all the wedding guests are waiting!

    Joss

The full Dobly Digital Plug-in costs extra, see this page

I'm not sure if you need the full plug-in to import a two channel AC-3 file.

You igt need the plug-in. Not very practical but you may be able to author the DVD by checking the "do not convert compliant files" checkbox. It will be found under options/preferences or on the final menu before you burn.
