  1. Okay, I have been reading through alot and I found The FilmMaker is good for changing *.AVI to DVD but, it doesn't support AVI converted from DV!!!

What can I do? I know about DVD shrink but it does not take raw AVI.

By the way, what is interlaced video?

How to burn 3 hr DV video into one DVD?
By encoding to the correct bitrate. What bitrate's correct, is found out using a bitrate calculator. 3 hrs will give you ~3150 kbps video (if audio is 224 kbps) which would hint you to encode to 1/2 D1 (352*576/480 PAL/NTSC). Guides on DV to DVD conversions found here.

  4. I don't know where you got that idea about TFM not supporting DV-AVI??? It certainly will. It may need to be type 2 DV-AVI, but I'm not sure about this. How did you transfer the DV to your computer HD?

I don't think the quality will be very good getting that much DV onto a single DVD, but that depends on how steady the source footage is and many other variables.

  5. hmmmmmm....my bad, I guess. I could swear I've used TFM for DV from my camcorder, but appearantly not. Maybe that was DIKO or something I used.

Maybe try the all-in-one called something like "??VCD2DVD??. It is similar to TFM in that you can use "pay for" encoders for better quality but it does the rest as a package.
