I was wondering if there are any video download services that let you burn to dvd.

I like amazons video on demand but it is harddrive only or playforsure media players. I have a zune that is not playforsure.

There is the ps3 that i have but you can only save to the harddrive or copy to a psp which I do not have.

Blockbuster online now lets you copy to an archos but I don't have an archos either.

I know all about Itunes but as mentioned I have a zune not an ipod.

What I'd like is a video service that lets you burn the video to a standard dvd format. Has this been completely ignored so as to keep you locked into a protected format either on a pc or a properietary hardware?

Edit I found cinemanow at bestbuy (via link). It does divx that can play on a 360 or ps3 and I have both. The nice thing is it can be burnt to disc and not just on a computer or direct download. Too bad it doesn't support zune. But that is a start. Anything similar?
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

    update

I bumped into some tools called drmdbg and freeme2 online the other day. It took me awhile to figure them out but I got them working (yes they work on vista 32bit).

Its great because it was able to rip out the drm on the videos I purchased on amazon like fairuse4m used to be able to. I was then able to load them into my zune software and it converted it for my zune 30gb player.

Obviously I'd be able to just as easily convert the wmvs to dvd for viewing on a settop player.

This is great for videos that I've purchased online. This way I don't have to resort to realtime dubbing with other programs.

As mentioned these are PURCHASED video files. FYI.

Also I used the March 2009 version and it works. Good stuff

Edit 2 - Here is the version of windows media player I am using - 11.0.6000.6353

To hopefully prevent a premptive termination of this useful program I have disabled automatic update installs on vista - it will still download them but I have it set so I choose the updates. Hopefully I'll remember to not update windows media player for as long as I possibly can to keep this working.

Edit - I haven't tested it with Itunes videos yet. I did purchase one episode of a tv show on Itunes and I would be interested to check it out and that as well.
