I've come across this twice in the past couple weeks, with no real solution found as of yet. A PC (both XP so far) can access the internet and all web pages EXCEPT anything HTTPS. Not sure what's causing this and at least on the first PC, spyware and virus scans turn up nothing unusual. I haven't gotten the 2nd one up on the bench yet, so I'm not sure if it's the same situation. The first one we ended up backing up docs and reinstalling. I'd hate to think that's the only solution though.

    TIA

This one's not on SP2, and I turned off the firewall on the previous system with no luck. This one turned out to have quite a bit of spyware, so that might be the issue. I'll try it again when I get it all clean. Thanks for the tip though. I'll give firefox a try. Something tells me that may work but unfortunately it's not a long term solution as it's not my own personal PC.

Verify that "Use SSL 2.0" and 3.0 are checked under the security settings of IE.

Try the following utils and you might be able to see what is going on behind the scenes with IE.
