This has been going on for a couple of days now and its really irritating.
I checked 2 other computers on my LAN and they can all access them fine.
Now i
- Restarted my modem, router, and pc
flushed DNS
made Ip static
i did a scan
restored the winsock
cleared cache and all other browsing data
Tried IE7 and Firefox 1.5
none of this seems to work.
Firefox Gives me this
Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at tigerdirect.com
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
I do have a hijack this log if it is needed.

It could be issues with the ISP. Maybe call them and see if there are any outstanding issues.

try going to one of their web server via IP
Name: www.tigerdirect.com
Addresses: 199.181.77.51, 199.181.77.54, 199.181.77.55, 199.181.77.52, 199.181.77.53, 199.181.77.56
Example http://199.181.77.55/
If you can get to it via IP, try to see if your dns server can resolve it
From a command prompt type "nslookup www.tigerdirect.com"
It should come back with the IPs listed above. If it times out, try another DNS server -
it's got to be blocked at the local level if the other computers have access. it's either listed in the hosts file or blocked by whatever you are using as a firewall. if you haven't installed one, than it's the windows firewall which is on by default in sp2. try the "reset to defaults" button.

I have sygate firewall and its not the firewall. I turned it off to try to go to the site and it still doesnt work.
How would i mess with the hosts file?
EDIT: Not the hosts either. i just replaced mine with another computers.
Still no luck -
You can try pasting the desired url on this page:
http://anonymouse.org/anonwww.html
This works for urls blocked on LAN unless the above page is blocked. -
hit ctrl-alt-delete. bring up the list of all running processes. you are going to have to check out each one and find the privacy/blocking software that's running without you knowing or you've forgotten. some anti-spyware/anti-malware/anti-something is blocking sites.....
the hosts file is text and editable with notepad.--

First try to ping your DNS server... (See bottom statement)
CMD promt
type "ipconfig/all" see what the DNS IP is
type "ping IP.AD.DR.ESS"
Does it reply to the pings?
Second, do a trace route to the DNS server.
CMD prompt
type "tracert IP.AD.DR.ESS"
does it trace out to it?
third, trace route to tigerdirect.com's IP
does it make it?
BTW, if you have a cable/DSL modem router or something like that, your IP will be something like 192.168.1.x or 10.1.10.x. If this is the case, log into your modem to get the REAL external DNS servers IP address, not the IP address of the cable/DSL modem. -

Uninstall TCP/IP and re-install it.

ipconfig/flushdns

tracert to the site (asked this before)
check if it's in IE's restricted sites
I still haven't seen the results to my other questions -
Code:
Tracing route to tigerdirect.com [199.181.77.35] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 Destination host unreachable. Trace complete.
did the arp -d and it still doesnt work and i the flushdns is the first thing i did when i started with this problem. -
There's no .35 www server for TD
Here's my nslookup

Seems strange that you can ping your router (and other PCs on the LAN), and the tracert to Google suggests you can get to your router (but just not very far after that), yet the tracert to tigerdirect suggests you aren't even getting to your router.
The inconsistency in the information above is what makes it such a noodle-scratcher for me.
I'd ring your ISP, explain the issue and get them to monitor their firewalls whilst you try accessing the site from one of your PCs that works and also from the one that doesn't. They should clearly see the one working coming through. If they don't see the one that is not working coming through, then it isolates it to a problem at your end.
One more question though - how have you got your LAN set up ?
Judging by the fact you edited out your router's IP, have you just got it set to the external IP ? Do you have an internal IP range for your LAN ?If in doubt, Google it. -
