Hi, I have tried out many many many editing programs Pinnacle 9.3 Plus, Premiere Elements, Video Studio 8, Nero 6 Ultra, WinDVD Creator, Movie Factory... I can't make a decision on which one to use becuase I don;t know enough about what features I will want when I become comfortable at the basic level. I basically want to spend around $100 to get something that will allow me to edit easily (mpeg2, DV) but that also has a decent number of the intermediate or advanced options for down the road. Basically I want the most I can get for $100. Any suggestions?

Well pick one master it. The concepts will be more clear when you actually use the features to their limits. Then you will know what more you need or want and how to evaluate the demos.

So for many, Nero 6.6 is a good start
I like Sony Vegas Movie Studio for its upward migration path.
I also find ULead Video Studio 8 a very flexible tool.
