    I want to do my menus rendering to 24p. to put them in the dvd should i encode is as 23.971fps or 29.97 with 3:2 pulldown to get the best results?

    I would render to 23.976fps and encode at that framerate with the 3:2 pulldown flags applied, or I would render to 29.97fps. I don't really think it makes a bit of difference which you do.

    If you have to render at 24fps then just encode it at 23.976fps and again, encode at this framerate with 3:2 pulldown flags applied. The slight decrease in speed should be neglible.

    Most commercial NTSC disks store the menu's at 29.97fps interlaced.

    Adam is correct, make sure you apply Pulldown. If you use MainConcept to encode @ 23.97, it will apply pulldown by default. With other encoders, you may have to do it manually.

    Whenever I make animated motion menus, I encode them @ 24p. The same applies to the slideshows/photo montages I create.
    Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........
