  1. Does anyone know of software that will allow me to specifiy a folder and then the software will play all the video files in that folder in separate thumbnails?

I have a folder containing hundreds of video files in various formats with undescriptive file names. I'm hoping to avoid the time-consuming task of opening each file one-by-one to see what's in them.

Using the Thumbnail view in Windows Explorer, I can see the first frame of each video but that often doesn't tell me what's in the video. I really need to play the video. Thank you.

  2. It wouldn't suprise me if BeOS had something like this, since it was known for its multimedia capabilities. I'm not sure if there is a windows app that does this though.

The best idea I have is to load them all into a Win Media Player playlist, then with the file locations open on the left half of the screen, and WMP on the right, you could quickly flip through and re-name.
