I have a Panny E85 and a E55. When I record a program on the E55 on a RAM disk, edit it, take to the E85, it dubs to the HDD at high speed, then even though it is less than 2 hours long it will not high speed dub back to a DVD-R from the HDD. I have to dub it at 1X in SP. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal. Thanks

The only option I find in the setup/disk concerning DVD-R is the high speed dubbing mode which is on. My high speed dubbing works fine except when I try to dub a disk that was recorded on the E55 using a RAM disk. It will high speed dub the Ram disk to the HDD but not from it. Thanks.

Not sure then. I have the E80. Is it just not giving you the option to high speed dub? Only XP through FR available? This doesn't sound right to me. I just did this with a one minute slip recorded in SP, high dubbed to the hard drive and it worked. The high speed dub option is also available for me. Hmmm...

The Hybrid VBR resolution is set to fixed on both units. I have followed the Panasonic tips thread instructions on both units. It seems logical that if you are trying to dub less than 3500MB that it should dub in high speed. When I try to dub I get a message that it is unable to high speed bub and to change the recording rate. I change it to SP and it dubs at 1X. Thanks for the help.

A little more info on the dubing problem. The E85 will high speed dub a RAM disc recorded on the E55 to the HDD and will high speed dub the recording from the HDD back to a RAM disc, but will not high speed dub back to a DVD-R.

I just sent an email to Panasonic support. I post what their reply is.

I tried to do my last post and it worked OK. I was able to dub a RAM to the HDD in high speed, then dub it back to a DVD-R in high speed, as long as everything was done on the E85. It just doesn't work if the RAM is recorded on the E55.

I just tried this with my DMR-HS2/ E80 setup, I get the same thing - I never knew that. Oh well, I have the black level control and my computer, strange though.
