  1. Pat J. Volkerding, creator of Slackware Linux, the first linux distro, announced that they are going to drop Gnome support in the next major release. The main reason for this is the difficulty of building Gnome into packages, and they are going to concentrate more on KDE. Gnome users can still use Slackware by installing Dropline Gnome, a streamlined version- http://www.dropline.net/gnome/

I was about to install Slackware 10.0... I don't use GNOME anyway, so I guess it doesn't make that much difference to me.

I've been trying to install it for the past couple of days but i can't even get to the slackware disks... I'm trying to resize my windows partition but I'm having trouble... I posted a topic in the Computer forum about it.

I know nothing about resizing partitions, so I can't help there. I have about 57 gig free for Linux use, so this isn't much of an issue for me. Although I do kind of wish I had a diagnostic tool that would tell me the spin rates of my drives.
