  1. I've recently formatted my PC and I'm now having problems with Premiere. I always use Xvids in this program and had no trouble before, so I've been reinstalling loads of codecs and Premiere itself etc. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? The audio is fine so I reckon its the video codecs, mpeg files are fine too, both video and audio play. The strange thing is that xvids they play in the edit window but not in the preview one and once encoded the video is still black.

    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks alot!

You should only install codecs on a "need only" basis. Instsalling a whole bunch of them can cause conflicts. Try the g-spot to indentify the codec and codec sniper to help identifying issues.
