  1. OK, I just wasted more than an hour encoding a DivX file into DVD format with WinAVI converter. I finally get it finished and I go to make sure it looks good and there's a big ugly thing right in the middle of the screen that says "remove this tag for 30 bucks"

    OK THAT'S REALLY STUPID.

Are there any good reliable all in one tools to convert DivX to DVD? I really don't like having to use half a dozen pieces of software. Tmpeg plus takes too long, I left it on last night and it still had 10 hours remaining 7 hours later.

Thank you thank you for your help!

I believe so, because it is shareware.

Paying for it is the only way to get rid of it.

  5. I don't remember it ever saying it was going to do it.

the final product is good, really good, except for that stupid thing. i'd much rather use something free though, so i'm trying the free trial of main concept. it never said it would add any garbage to my final product , so i'll be mad once again if it does

    thanks guys

Nothing in this life is free, my friend ... except DVDShrink

Seriously, Quenc is the only truly free MPEG encoder I know of. If you want something done properly, you might have to fork over some $$$ for software that can do the job as you would like.
    If in doubt, Google it.

You could try the FilmMachine, it comes bundled with Quenc, and it's free. I have used it many times and it works great for me.

  12. Get qenc, and dvd2svcd (which will also do avi to dvd). It's all free.
VSO Divx to dvd is also free, but does not allow manually adjusting bitrate.
FilmMachine won't run on my system, so I can't comment.
Mainconcept mpeg encoder also puts a watermark in your video, read the fine print!
Wait...people have already mentioned these, sorry

    OMG I am so mad
In the future try to use a more descriptive topic title. This title gives no clues about what your issue is. Thanks

...more like someone who ought to learn the process, rather than a specific application...

  17. Gawd No! Not Sonic, please.
There are better apps, that do a better job, and probably cheaper too, or at least worth paying a little bit more for.
