Just a report that MTR 2.6 can rip a R2 disc on a R1 PowerBook slot-loading drive (with stock firmware).
I thought I read in this forum that you need the RPC firmware to rip other Region discs (maybe I'm mistaken or MTR was updated to allow this).

This is pretty interesting. I'd like to get some confirmation of this. Do previous versions of MTR fail on the same discs? Does this apply to all discs from other regions, or just a particular one?
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté." -
This was the first non-R1 disc that I'd tried. DVD Player asked if I wanted to change the region when I tried to play it. MTR had no problems ripping it and now DVD Player has no problems playing the VIDEO_TS folder.
