HI
I have a DL Sony Burner and DL Verbatim dvdr's
Whenever I try I get a message saying results may be unuseable. Do I want to continue. I say yes and it errors out after a few hours of transcoding.
But if I reduce the quality to fit on a regular dvdr it burns fine.
I am enclosing the log.
I have little clue why this is happening.
If anyone could help......................

Hi
I'm not sure what you mean by back it up. I have been trying to burn from a file I downloaded. It's actually a Dire Straits concert from your country!
I am using Nero. I add the files and it just runs it's thing.
But doesn't work
I read that post a little and saw the part about Nero being no good.
So I downloaded Copy to DVD but I had uninstalled Nero and I can't get this DVD copy to recognize the files -
They are all VTs files.
The appear as
.bup
.ifo
.vob
I would add them to Nero and burn. If it was single layer it burned fine. Double layer was the problem.
But now after uninstalling and reinstalling Nero the dile icons are cahnged and not recognized. They look like apiece of paper with a clipped corner and the letter A???
And calling it an unrecognizable format.
Is that what you need to know??
Thanks

It sounds more like you have downloaded crap (not uncommon) and Nero is telling you this, but you won't listen. I do have a solution for you, although it will take some effort on your part. Go to Amazon, search for the original, and buy it. Then you know you will get a working DVD.

There is no out and out proof that it is warez. Likely yes, but not beyond doubt. -
Understood.
In any case, it sounds very much like we're taking the file associations of Windoze's registry system for granted. I don't know precisely how one lays out what they are trying to do in this case (namely because I haven't tried this sort of project before), but this don't look like it to me. Having tried to transfer VCDs to DVD+Rs myself, I daresay that fiddling around in TMPGenc (sp?) will fix a few problems. However, this whole process smacks of requiring a little more tech-savvy than is currently on display."It's getting to the point now when I'm with you, I no longer want to have something stuck in my eye..." -
This is not an illegal video. The band alllows for this type of trading.
But my problem remains.
