Black space after opening an AVI in TMPGEnc Xpress

Hi! I am trying to convert some small, 11min, AVI (Divx 5) clips to a MPEG-2 DVD file. When I open them up in TMPGEnc XPress, it says that they are about 30 mins! I play it and it plays the 11 min clip fine, but when it is finished, it has about 20 mins of black at the end. Why does it do this? Is there any way about fixing it w/o having to manually edit and cut the 20 mins of black each time?

This is probably due to VBR MP3 audio, which causes problems in TmpGenc. Do a forum search for "VBR audio" or similiar and you will find lots of info on how to fix this problem.
