I payed a little extra and had it presetup with Service Pack 2 and a couple of extras... It was ready right out of the box...

Hello,
Sorry goober the deal ends at 12 noon local time....
And each store only had 20 each
That's WHY I was in line for 5 HOURS... They would have been out of them if I went any later

congrats on your $200.00 pc from Best Buy. at COMPUSA's moonlight madness sale the day before thanksgiving they had the same pct for the same price. while standing in line to wait for the store to open they handed out this paper for those wanting to purchase that pc. they only passed out so many, you had to pay for it in advance. without that paper no other customers could purchase it. the container of stuff for compusa didn't come in time so the one's who paid in advance would have to p/u the pc when the shipment comes in.

That is a damn good deal you got there, Kevin. I usually prefer to build my own machines, but for the real budget machines you can't touch the big companies with their bulk-buying power.
Glad you've bagged yourself such a fine deal!

Ok, I'm going to be the one to ask the question you all have been wondering about, but too afraid to ask:
Yoda - after standing around in the cold Michigan air this morning since 1AM.... Can you still feel your toes? -
Hello,
Thanks Cobra + richdvdI love the deal I got and so far I love the computer
Shoozleboy - I wore two pairs of socks so yes I can still FEEL MY TOES!
Kevin
---I'm in the slow process of backing up all my files on cd/dvd and copying them to the new pc. I figure by tonight I should have enough loaded to move the pc to where my DSL is.---

Yoda,
If you don't have a network, why don't you pull the drive from the old machine, put it in the new one as Slave, and copy files that way. Way faster than burning to CD/DVD.
Possible the IDE cable only has 1 connector (I've seen that ) but they're only a few bucks.
Cheers,

Hello,
Well I now have my Emachine hooked up to my DSL!!!!!
It's great having POWER and SPEED!
I haven't played a game online yet with the new PC but I will this weekend probably. I still need to install my DVD burner and my Capture Card. Other than that it's all ready to go
I also loaded my printer and scanner drivers so they're ready to go too.

Hello,
IT DOESN'T HAVE AN AGP SLOT!
That's the only thing wrong with it!
In fact I ordered a agp card from an internet site BEFORE I knew this
I finally installed my single layer microadvantage 4x dvd burner tonight and saw it HAD NO AGP SLOT!The dvd burner seems to work just fine.
Fortunately I was able to get a hold of a rep and put a stop shipment on the order. I used my VISA debit card so I've got some protection if I get into a battle over the money
ARGHHHHHH!!!!
-----------------------------
Let me reiterate - THAT IS THE ONLY THING WRONG - NO AGP SLOT
------------------------------
By the way, here's a pic:
=================
I still love it.
I'll just have to scrounge the net for a high powered PCI 3d card....

This sucks. But the PC is perfect otherwise.
Do they make DDR PCI 3d cards??????

Hello,
I just checked out ATI's website -
http://shop.ati.com/product.asp?sku=2584538
The radeon 9250 (I think that's the number) is a 256mb DDR PCI 3d card. I'll be able to find one.

Hello,
MY GOD!
My Emachine DOESN'T have a FLOPPY DRIVE!
This is my first pc without one. I just noticed looking at the pic I posted on this thread.
Man now I really need to use my dvd burner for backing up. How do I do those bootable cdrs??? The version of Roxio 6 I have has an option for it. I'll have to learn how to use it now.
KevinDonatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
I would add a floppy drive and your board may have pciexpress.
If you have pciexpress, then you will not need agp.
Agp is dying off anyway.
