  1. I've got a DVD-r I backed up with DVD shrink it plays find on my TV. However when I put it into my computer I can only watch the first half using like Win DVD or Windows media player etc. After that it goes into slow motion or something where it just freezes for about a min then goes to the next screen seven seconds later and so on. I've also tried copying it with like Smart Rip and an error pops because its not unlocked but I can’t unlock it because playback doesn’t work. And I've tried just copying the DVD to another DVD with Nero disc copy it stops about halfway though and says there was an error and it had to abort or something like that. Obviously there is an error but it doesn't effect watching it on my DVD player so it seems there would still be a way to burn it at least to me it would make sense. Any help is much appreciated thanks,

or cleaning the disc, or checking for scratches, or cleaning the laser lens.

standalone and PC DVD drives have very different error compensation

standalone may just skip past what the PC might choke on...

  4. Sounds like it could be a media issue/bad burn and your drive is having read error trouble.

Try using DVD Decrypter in file mode to rip the files to a folder on your HDD ... if successful, burn from there .... if you get read errors galore it's the disk

Try ripping with your burner instead of the DVD-Rom, these are generally more forgiving.

  7. run a laser lens cleaner on all, even standalone optical drives. i've had dvd\r's that gave me a problem on my pc. lens cleaner fixed it instantly. lens cleaners are a must if you sit by your pc smoking all day!!!
