  1. I've got alot of Family DVD's that I want to put some separate DVD's together as one.
I've got DVDecryptor that I'm using to store the files on my HD.
I'm looking for some simple point & click software that will take these files from my HD and split them into separate audio/video files, so I can edit them with Windows Movie Maker using their transitions/fades.
Then I guess I'm supposed to save those files as avi files and then convert them to mpeg 2 , so I can burn them to DVD.

    Is this correct?

Can anyone give me some info and/or point me in the right direction?

    Thanks

Take a look here for MPEG editors. https://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=107#107

I would try to edit them in MPEG format. If you can avoid sync problems, this would be the easiest. You don't need WMM or convert to AVI if you can avoid it.

Yes, you can convert to AVI and the editing is much easier and more foolproof, but you will loose quality in the conversion.

Womble is a good MPEG editor, you might try it. There are other MPEG editors that also work well, but the cost can be a factor.

  3. for me, i just re-number the VTS_01_0.BUP, VTS_01_0.VOB, VTS_01_0.IFO files so they are in succession with each other, put them in the same VIDEO_TS folder, use DVD2one (DVD2oneX for Macs) and use 'join' select everything i want, and click 'start' and it makes one DVD.
    totally cake.
