I pray this is in the right section. Here's my problem, I ripped VHS taped stuff to my drive then encoded with TMPGEnc DVD source creator (DVD format). I then use TMPGEnc DVD Author to make the Audio and Video TS folders (took me 2 weeks to do all of this). I made an image with Shrink then burned with DVD Decrypter all of that went fine.

I have made 9 DVD's and they all seem to play fine on any DVD player but my problem is I want to make copies of the copies so I can have backups and if my son scratch the DVD it's no big. When I tried to make an iso backup with shrink I get this error. Does anyone know what it means or what I can do?

Thanks in advance for any help,

    Venom

    Hello,

If its already a backup you don't need to rerip it. Just go ahead and use any dvd copy software since it's not protected. (as long as you just want an exact copy of the backup).

  4. CRC errors are usually due to bad or damaged media. Type backing them up with DVD Decrypter. Select ISO read to write an ISO image followed by ISO write. If you get errors, which you probably will, try selecting a low retry count and to ignore errors.

    Clean the DVD too.

2 Weeks.... What kind of computer do u have, a Camadore?

Sorry, i couldn't resist... Tim had it right on. U should just be able to use DVD Decrypter's ISO --> read, ISO ---> write modes to do this. But a CRC error in Shrink isually indicates bad media....

2 weeks because I had to get them in order and then encode them and my HD is only 20gb so I have to do it little by little and plus I work. So yeah 2 weeks--lmao.

Why would it be bad? I recorded fine and plays fine and it is clean...anyways, I'm trying Decrypter right now...will update with the results

I would try Dvddecryter: iso read and iso write.
    It should work.

I'm with him on this one

CRC errors do normally mean a damaged disc, although different programs or even different drives to rip can often get around this.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Decrypter gave me errors also...I don't understand it. The disk is was a brand new DVD-R. When I play it there are errors in one part...could have come from the encoding process?

  10. It's probably the disc, look for fingerprints or scratches.Use Nero CD-DVD Speed->Disc Quality Test to check for errors.
Try dragging the VIDEO_TS folder to your desktop.
