I have an .AVI file with an .ac3 audio track contained in it - I can play it fine in Quicktime now that I have the .ac3 codec- but I want to convert it to a .mov file with the audio track attached so I can then create a .mpg to write a VCD to watch the film on my TV, not on my Mac. when using Divx Doctor II I keep getting errors movie not found!

I have done this many time with no problems, but now that the .avi has a .ac3 audio file Divx Doctor II wont do what I need!

    From the DD II website:
    http://doctor.3ivx.com/faq.html#How%20Do%20I%20Play%20My%20Video%20With%20AC3%20Audio?

You will have to do the following:
Save out the video( Export-->Quicktime to QT mov)
as a movie file with no audio,
and then use Wiretap or AHP to record the audio from AVI
    to a new AIFF.
Then, Open the captured AIFF, and add scaled the
QT movie to the captured AIFF. This will produce a clean, compliant Quicktime file that you can then save then export to MPEG-1, MPEG-2, use with Toast, etc.

Download ffmpegX, choose one of the VCD presets, burn the resulting output to CD.
