  1. I've tried it on dvd2onex' variable and selective medium so far, keeping the 5.1 and four commentaries, but ditching the DTS and 2.0 tracks. I think selection medium looks a little better, but perhaps others have found better ways.

Maybe I should just ditch those commentaries, or at least the design and sound teams' commentaries I'm not sure which ones they are in the dvd2onex window yet

    Cheers,

You could always split it across 2 DVDs using DVD2OneX in Movie only or Join mode. DTS is always the first to go, but I find stereo audio tracks aren't worth tossing, except for foreign language ones. I usually keep stereo commentary tracks, but YMMV.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

  3. Is the DTS soundtrack file size larger than the Dolby soundtrack, making it a better candidate for removal?

If one has a DTS decoder in their receiver, any reasons pro and con as to why Dolby should be the only soundtrack saved and not the DTS one?

  4. I understand that DTS soundtracks are significantly bigger than Dolby Digital soundtracks, due to the higher bitrate. On the other hand, many people prefer the sound of DTS.
