  1. Okay. I just got a Graphics Card today (Diamond Stealth S80 with RADEON 9200SE 128MB DDR DVI/TV-Out PCI Version). I'm really a newb and it's the first time I do anything with Graphic Cards. I installed it into my computer and am currently using it. Everything works perfectly fine. I just want to know how to connect the computer to the TV so that it acts as a moniter. Is my video card for that (cuz it says TV-Out) and a video cable came with it (the yellow one for A/V). So I'm guessing it can connect to a TV. How do I do it? I hooked it up on my Toshiba VCR and connected the VCR to my TV (because my 25" TV doesn't have the place to hook up A/V cables (Yellow, Red, White)) Then I press on the "Input Select" button on my VCR controller and all I get it a blue screen. (I play my N64, Gamecube and PS2 on this TV)

Thank you for helping in advance, and remember, I am a total newb at this .....

  3. I've just moved your question to our Computer forum. Capturing is all about taking video into your computer.

Your VCR should see it no bother. You may need to consult the VCR manual.

You could try lowering the resolution to 800 x 600:

    ...or maybe:

    Good luck!

I'm guessing if he doesn't have an RCA video connection on his TV, he probably doesn't have S-Video either. It's probably one of those Coax-only models.

  10. How is the quality of that on your tv? I was thinking of doing the same thing, using a tv as a monitor, but I was talking to a guy at compusa about this and he said that unless you have a really new tv the text on the computer won't really even be readable on the tv. Is this true or does it work fine?

    It is fine.

I use the tv-out feature of mine and it works very well.

You see an 800x600 representation of your desktop.

  14. so the text is readable and everything? No issues straining your eyes or anything? Do you think this would work on an older tv, like 5-8 years old?
