  1. Hi guys,

I'm not asking how to do it, but just to know which program out there that is capable of doing it, I'll figure it how to do it later.

The Menu I'm looking for is similar to the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King,

Where there is a motion background comes up before the "options" come up. The button for the "Play Movie", "Special Features" come later on like around 10 seconds later, and all this the "audio" is uninterrupted when the menu buttons (options) comes up.

I've tried using Sony's DVD Architect, but no go, and I can't seem to get
the "Transition" video to work, or the main "Play" button does not have the option to link to the "transition video".

They do not seem to have a trial version that I can try out,
but do they also have "transition" menus/clips?

I do not want to try and purchase it, and find out that it cannot do other things.

Oh and tanks for the reply

  4. yes it involves a pgc item with cells with seamless playback. Dvd lab pro has rudimentary intro-loop-end cells for motion menus, works well enough. During the intro, no highlight buttons are shown.

  5. You can do it with just about any authoring program.
Simply split the motion clip in half (or whatever)
and run the 1st half as an intro video and the 2nd
half as the menu background. Simple & seamless.

I tried that with DVD architect 2,
but there is a split second delay between switching from the "intro" video
    to the main menu.
That switch over takes about 1/2 second pause,
The video is not the problem there, it's the audio that gets interrupted.

  7. Can you try simulating the start of the menu
in the intro video (screen shot of your orig menu
overlay added the end of intro video) and then
cause the "pause" to occur at a later stage where
it is less noticeable? Either that or try an audio fade or
    even another authoring package.

  8. the only real way to have seamless is to have celled menu. at least 2 cells are needed here, the first is intro, with no button highlights, and the 2nd is with button highlights and seamless playback set to yes (auto).

From my experience, not many lower end authoring packages allow that. Dvd lab pro does allow it, but its not frame accurate yet. I suggest, you make a motion video, with your intro where your buttons appear, and the loop part, but when you encode it, set the point where you want the buttons to highlight an I frame, it will make setting the entry point of the 2nd cell much easier.

Have you used dvd lab pro?

DVD lab pro is $200, I'm not sure if I want to purchase it before trying it out first, and it seems as though it does not have a trial period for me to try it out, I'm assuming this DVD LAB pro allows "Transition menus/clips"?

And DVD Architect does not seem to have this "Seamless Playback"

    Thanks alot again guys.
