  1. I'm using DVD2oneX after DVD backup. Despite using the user-defined option and setting as low as 3800, the output file is always 4.5 gigs. Any hints??

Try setting it lower... Actually, I believe that depending on the encoder used to encode the original movie, there might be a limit to how much certain movies can be requantized (what DVD2OneX does). At this point, you might either need to do a movie-only backup, remove unneeded audio tracks, and if all else fails, maybe use something like DVDRemaster in Downsize mode to reencode the video at a lower bitrate.

  3. Well, you might be correct as other discs are copying just fine. Only for this one, I can't get the file size down at all from 4.5. I'll try your suggestions. Thanks!

I just run the 4.5GB output thru DTOX again (only takes 8-10 minutes) at the same settings.

Wow, strange that running it again worked, but reducing the user defined output size lower didn't. Some strange voodoo going on here... glad you got it working though.
