Iam using the ATI Wonder USB card and Virtualdub for capturing. I cant get a higher resolution than 320x240. I tried 320x288 but an error msg came up with "Error:418 Unsupported video format". Can i get a higher resolution for capturing? and does the resolution and quality of the captured video depend mostly on the brand of the card itself or the software used?

i use iuvcr for captureing. before i was useing mmc7.1 but i was resrticted from capturing anything higher than ***x240. with iuvcr i am know able to capture at whatever resolution i want. of course higher resolution makes a better quality capture. from what i've been told vdub is great but i don't use it(need to take time to figure it out). my advise is to try some other capture capture programs under tools and see if any of those help.........or maybe someone here can tell you how to change it in vdub.......

Buy a PCI Video Card, you just cannot get the bandwith needed from a USB port for a capture higher.
That is the sad truth.
You can pick up a PCI card for less then $50 for decent captures.
For capturing I recommend Virtual Dub listed in the tools section. There is a wide array of filters and settings and is simple to use.
