    Hey,

Got a neat set of Ultraman DVDs (8 discs, 39 episodes) and I'd like to make a backup set in case these get scratched.

    I have a G4/1 GHz running 10.2.8, with a Pioneer DVR-106 inside.

The DVD won't mount on my desktop. Toast 6.0.7 does see it, however, and here's what it shows:

Shouldn't the format be UDF, not ISO9660?

DVD Media Inspector tells me it's a Taiyo Yuden DVD+R, and it appears as though the session hasn't been closed by whomever burned it.

Any ideas how to mount or copy this disk? I've got a slow Win98 PC with a DVD-R only drive, so that probably won't be any help.

Handbrake sees it, but I don't want to compress it, I just want to COPY it.

    Suggestion?

if toast can see it, can you make a disc image (file > save as > disc image) from toast to your harddrive, then burn that?
pants on, pants off, pants the floor.

MacOS 10.3 and above is required to mount DVD+R discs.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

well, didn't reboot into 10.3 yet, but was able to just use the Copy feature of Toast. even though the disk wasn't mounted, it copied to a DVD-R just fine!
