    I have a few DivX movies over 650M. I want to burn them onto a 650M CD-RW.

Are there any guides for this or can some tell me how to do it?

I am not a newbie and have previously created VCDs from DivX.

  2. You can use Virtuadub-MPEG2 program. The instructions are available here ----> https://www.videohelp.com/virtualdubedit.htm

Program is available thru the Tools section....free also.

    Have fun

Also, be advised that CD-RW are not ment for long term storage (though I am guessing you probably know this).

There are also a few manufacturers out there that sell 700MB CD-RW discs, though they are hard to find.

It is true, CD-RW uses something called "phase change," which is based on a crystaline type chemical. In contrast CD-R (and other write-once optical media) are dye based. The crystaline structure of CD-RW media is heated by the laser and thus its shape is changed. These crystals are also far less stable than dye, and slowly change shape over time. The technology was not designed for archival storage.

CD-RW is usefull for short-term storage, shuttling data, etc. Do not expect the data to last more than a few months (just to be safe). CD-RW disc may also fail after being re-written a number of times. Claims of 1000 re-writes are mostly hype.

Here is one link I have handy: cdrfaq.org
