I installed Windows XP last weekend, I have to say I was a liitle hesitant in doing so reading about the problems here. It was a clean install of XP pro, I had some issues with administrator priviledges but an hour on the phone with microsoft fixed that, (no charge). I made sure I installed the newest drivers for my ATI AIW card, no additional wdm drivers were installed, (which I had to do with windows ME). Everything works on VDUb, frameserving, capturing at any resolution I want, etc.. I think one of the tricks is a clean install, (not an upgrade). and the newest drivers. All the programs I use for video have wotked flawlessly in XP, smartripper, tpmpeg, dvd2avi, panasonic mpeg encoder and nero! I also upgraded from a t-bird 1g to an AMD 1600xp and my encode time went from 4-5 hours to 2-3 hours. cost of upgrade was $300 for case, cpu, mb, and 512 memory, well worth it!
