Mencoder and mplayer binaries won't install

I'm trying to run v0.0.9k and it looks like the mencoder and mplayer binaries aren't installing for some reason. Whenever I open ffmpedX, the components self-installer box will come up with all the boxes unchecked *EXCEPT* for the mencoder and mplayer ones which are highlighted in red. They both appear to be the correct size (6.1 MB each). I even tried installing them manually using the sudo cp/desktop/ commands but they still wont install. Looks like mpeg2enc installed without any problems however. Does anyone know what's going on here?

Open terminal.app and copy/paste this command:

ls -l /usr/bin/mencoder

then email me the result, to major4@mac.com

Thanks for the help, Major. You were right about me using the wrong binaries. I installed the correct ones from that link you sent me and it worked perfectly after that. Thanks again!
