  1. What does mean?

I'm running a .avi (720x480, PICVideo) through Vdub (.avs file). No Audio, just video. Makes the new .avi just fine.

Load the new .avi into CCE and setup the settings I want, I get the above error? Any ideas? Thanks.

    I'm encoding to 480x480 MPEG2

Is there any reason why you use both VirtualDub and Avisynth?

  3. Here's my process, I cap with AVI_IO (I get less frame drops with it, than vdub) at x480 (720 or 640).

I then load the Avisynth (GreedyHMA)/Rezise (480x480) .avs into vdub, and do a direct stream .avi

I now save with the old format .avi, after reading your post. CCE works now, however.. halfway through the vdub/.avs process I get: AVIOutput - error in parimeter (or somthing to that effect) any clue on that?

Is there a better way? TMPGenc is just to damn slow.

I did not work with that filter until now. Hope you'll find an answer here.
Did you try to frameserve with Avisynth to CCE directly?

  5. Yes. I loaded the handler, and turned the proxy on. Howeverw hen I goto load the .vdr file in CCE, it says that its not a .avi file. Even if I name it "blah.vdr.avi"..

I meant to frameserve with Avisynth but without VirtualDub.
Load the .avs into CCE instead of VirtualDub. Or do you use cce sp 2.62?
Also you said, you selected direct stream copy. Then the avi will be saved as uncompressed avi and if you running Win98/ME you'll get after 4 GB the parameter error message.
Solution: Save as segmented avi. There is a way to frameserve segmented avi to CCE 2.62. Convert the .avs (SegmentedAviSource) with VFAPI 1.03b and open that pseudo avi in cce.

  7. Ah, forgot about the 4GB limit. Yeah, I have SP 2.62.. just got 2.5, but still naged.

cce sp 2.62 accept mov and avi only (vfapi.avi too)
cce sp 2.5 accept .vdr, .avs, mov, avi (vfapi.avi too)
Run Vdub's proxyoff.reg before using VFAPI.
VFAPI 1.03b converts .vdr and .avs. VFAPI 1.04 do not.
