  1. hi ive read threw tons of posts and am still none the wiser

so this is what im trying to achieve......

i have some cartoon files that ive downloaded there recorded from tv somewhere these file types are...(v codec)-xvid mpeg4
    (A.1 ) mpeg layer 3 ????

i want to burn these to dvd-r prob is i dont have a dvd burner on laptop just a dvd recorder under my tv so i need to tranfere these file to my dv camcorder first
software i got to use is,,,ulead moviestudio 8
    riverpast movie cleaner
    virtualdub
    panasonic dv codec
    AVIcodec,divx codec
    jvc gr-dx100 dv camera
    win xp sp1
so i load these files into moviestudio dont do no editing just click the make movie button which then comes up with option to send to dv cam
so then it starts to render the file turns into a 2+gb avi file

then when all tha rendering is done i hook my camcorder up to laptop via firewire it tranfers fine except for the sound,,there no sound at all
ive tried to find a soloution but the forums seem to be confusing me even more

is there anyone out there kind enough to give me some much needed advice a step by step would be great!!!!!

is there a better way off doing this whole process

    thanks for reading ppl

  2. I don' know the exact answer but I do know one thing - you need to isolate where the problem is occuring. Check our audio and video after each step of the process to see where it's being lost. My guess would be in the encoding from mpeg4 to DV - so check the DVAvi file before transferring to the camcorder.

What file type is the original audio? You can use gspot to check this. What is it AFTER you encode to DV ? What are the video codecs of the original and the converted DV file?

Have you tried to save it as AVI in VDubMod? That might work but I've never done it with this file type. With the info I discussed here, I would expect someone here can figure it out fairly quickly.
