  1. I just purchased philips DVD714AT. It is capable of VCD and MP3 playback. Burning MP3 using easy cd creator v4.0 produces cd's that play on the DVD player. I downloaded the sample NTSC VCD file from vcdhelp and used cd creator to transfer to cd. This file xxxx.mpg on the cd plays back on the computer using windows mediaplayer but the DVD player does not recognize the file. I have read a bit on this site regarding authoring however some question remains as to whether I am burning a vcd file or do I need to post process the sample file downloaded to make it into a compliant vcd file? Any ideas?

  4. I might be mistaken but it soulds like you just burned the mpeg file to a PC data CD (mode1) and tried to play it. This won't work. x(S)VCD need to be burned in MODE2 and require a certain file structure.

I'm not sure what programs you have. But take a look at:

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/vcdeasy.htm

You can d/load the newest VCDImager Easy Bundle at http://www.doom9.org (under downloads | full page)

Or if Easy CD Creator has VCD template/wizard that 'should' work (I don't have the program).
