What format are the AVI? In my experience, WME chokes on divx, xvid, 3ivx, and the like. Convert your file to an uncompressed AVI for best results.

Pretty sure it accepts AVS input fine though (Nic's little encoder definatly does), so try frameserving with AVISynth.

An avi is just a container

  6. Just open the avi file in Virtual Dub and choose Save As. Choose a new file name and save it. By not selecting a codec for compression it should default to uncompressed avi. You are aware that the uncompressed avi will be a huge multi-gigabit file depending on the runtime of your avi.
No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space.

Yep 24bits per pixel, widthxheight pixels per frame, multiply that by the fps and you get the size per second and even that will be a decently sized figure.

If you frameserve with AVISynth then the frames will be served up RAW anyway, without wasting time or space actually creating a raw file.
