  1. I backed up Ringu with DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. When DVD Decrypter got to 14% of burning the iso, it stopped due to an error. I then tried burning the iso with Nero and it crapped out at 14% as well.

    Why?

    Why?

Can you mount the ISO with daemon tools, and play it with PowerDVD? Once had a similar prob - turned out my HDD had read errors just where the ISO was located.
Try copying the ISO to another partition.

  3. Yeah, I mounted it with Alcohol 120% and watched it on my pc and it seemed fine. I just recently updated my firmware but in so doing, I was required to install Record Now. Iso files became associated with Record Now, so perhaps it could only be successfully burned with that prog. I just uninstalled it and I'm gonna try burning it again.

Use DVD-RW until you get this working. Updating your firmware sholdn't force you to install any special application like RecordNow. And what app is associated with ISOs is irrelevant.
The screen shot indicates it's indeed a write error, nothing wrong with your ISO being unreadable.
No further ideas why it doesn't work, I'm afraid.
