iDVD stage 2 hangs

1. I extracted single DV clip to iMovie 4
2. Launched iDVD 3 through iMovie
3. I start burning DVD
4. It showed 24 minutes remaining
5. It goes to Stage 2: Menu Rendering and encoding
6. It shows time remaining 22 minutes.
7. It sat here for 12 hours but still shows 22 minutes remaining

Is there some easy fix to make iDVD work?

Is there an alternative like using some other program (instead of
iDVD) to import existing iMovie project to encode and burn
DVD?

System details
iMac 17 inchesm 1 GHz- G4, 80 Gb Hdsk,
apple's original SuperDrive (I know other iDVD does now work
with non superdrives)
iMovie 4.0.1
iDVD 3.0.1

I tried MMT-EZ tool which does MPEG encoding and it has done encoding correctly.
I am not sure why iDVD cannot handle encoding.
