  1. I'm thinking about getting a good a hdtv card within 79 days to upgrade my Current ATI TV Wonder VE.I'm looking at the ATI HDTV Wonder but it only has RF Input and quality is of the most importance to me.Also I would probably have to use the stock software/drivers on it.I'd like to capture to hd and resize to 720x480 for my dvds and I imagine I'll get a quality increase however small it may be.So if anyone knows a good hdtv card that might work in say avi_io or allows avi capturing with huffyuv please post.

    -Thanks
    you'll win in time

Keep in mind that all cuurent HDTV capture cards are for over the air DVT capture only and will not interface cable or satellite HDTV tuner boxes nor will they accept analog component or digital HDTV inputs, just an antenna for DTV.

Also, uncompressed capture to huffyuv is not possible as far as I know. These cards output compressed streams.

you mean consumer capture -- you can buy HD capture cards for analog or SDI capture very easy .. and the price on these has really dropped (used to be 2 years ago a 10 grand item - now $500 (and up) )..

here is a low priced HD capture card -- it is SDI , so you would need a analog to sdi adaptor (also not expensive)

    Yes, I meant consumer cards.

This card would work if cable or satellite HDTV tuners only had SDI out

You would also need a box like this to convert analog component tuner box output to SDI
