I am having this problem of direct burn to disc. The "record tape into DVD in one step" window in WinDVD creator is grey out.
I can select capture to harddrive ok. But not direct burn to DVD. This is the feature I thought it had, that was the reason I bought it.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to do direct burn on this model.

Not sure with M401U but I've tried on M402U with Creator2. It works but the DVD menus created are something left to be desired.

To do this you have to go the wizard first and set all the necessary stuff including what audio format and and quality you want. If I can remember correctly - it has been a while since I did it.

I got a Email reply from Plextor, they told me only the 402u can do direct burn to disks. The 401u can't.
