    hey there, a friend of mine somehow has a HP DVD640 dvdburner drive only and is offering to sell it to me, i was wondering if anybody has any information whatsoever on the device. I think i remember seeing the phrase "LightRay" written on the actual bezel (you know right next to all the lil logos on the actual tray). i'm going to ask to borrow the device so that i may see if winxp recognizes it as anything...lemme kno plz

    It might be HPs coming LightScribe drive. I haven't seen any info about it yet but I believe it is a Philips-BenQ drive and should in that case be a very good burner too.
    Please post more info about it if you get it.

    sweet, its got to be the lightscribe, www.lightscribe.com and damn that looks cool, i think i'll follow through with this and then i just gotta find the earliest available media let alone software to do all this, bummer...any suggestions? i'll prolly just have to wait till it launches. also what kinda price range do you think it will really be at first? i'm seein how good of a deal im getting :P
