  1. I used Tmpgenc to convert avi to mpeg. It played fine on the computer but when I watched it on my TV, the screen is stretched and the top and bottom is cutoff.

Here's the info for my avi:
    Pal, 320x240, 25 frames/sec

I don't mind having black bars as long as the whole screen is preserved. What should be settings when converting from avi to mpg (black bars or otherwise)? Thank you!

  2. Should be 352x288, Full Screen Preserve Aspect Ratio.

  3. Ie. you need to resize your source. You can either do this in TMPGenc (simplest) or framserver w/ AVISynth or Virtual Dub (slower but can add other filters if necessary). If all you need/want to do is resize just do it in TMPGenc using the settings kinneera posted.

    1) Load avi
    2) Load PAL VCD template
    3) click on settings, then click advance choose
    source aspect ratio - 4:3 625lines (PAL)
Video arrange method - Full screen (keep aspect ratio)
