Does anyone know if laserdisc 12" burners were ever released, and if so where can I get one?

Yes they were released, they were basically the same as Umatic editing decks with LANC style shuttle controls. These days you may find one or 2 from TV stations as they are sometimes used there or maybe one second hand but I don't think they still sell them new. They were quite expensive new anyway though. Even if you did get one you would find it hard to get any blank media unless you have somewhere which you know you could get a constant supply from to make it a worth while purchase.
