hey every one, i recently bought a BenQ 8X DVD+R pack of 25, the label reads that the recording mode on _____ records _____:

HQ (high quality) - 60 mins
SP (Standard Play) - 120 mins
LP (long play) - 180 mins
EP (extended Play) - 240 mins
SLP (super long play) - 360 mins

my question is that what do these times mean, and how can i change the settings when recording on these DVD+R's on my DVD recorder on my computer lets say i want to record on SLP?

The amount of time that fits on a disk is a factor of the bitrate that is used when the video is created. Higher bitrate = less time. The speed settings are a marketing attempt to help people understand their DVD recorders.

LOL. yeah, what zippy said. Put it this way, you can put one movie on the dvd and it will look almost perfect or you can put that same movie on the dvd 3 times and it will look not so good.
