I'd really like to be able to test a few of the discs I burn to see the quality of the burn when there are no fatal errors, so I can have a better idea of what media to use with my burner. I gather that what I need to check are PIE and PIF errors, perhaps among other things.

Nero has a Linux version, but the real stopper is the PPC architecture. I've run Nero 6 Ultra in VPC on a G4 PPC, but all I can do is make .nrg image files. That's sometimes useful, since isobuster also works in VPC, but you can't burn discs from within virtual Windows on a PPC.
