  1. Hi I have a steady winxp sp2 sytem with an ati tv wonder ve and running the drivers off sourceforge.I have 1 SATA 160GB hardrive just for capping and 48gb is free. For some reason when I captured about 24gb it stopped capturing and said something to the effect of "no more disks found."It keeps doing this and screwing me up quite a bit.

    -Thanks

No idea about AVI_IO or what could be wrong with your setup. Sorry.

Try WinDV (freeware)... If it works then no problem, as long as you don't want AVI_IO for a specific reason.

    Good luck.

In AVI_IO, click on 'Capture Settings' and select the disk in the list of capture drives then select "Modify Disc" and check that the 'Use MB on this drive" is set to '0' and not something else.

Thanks but I had it set to 0 and I have tried setting it to 48GB with the correct number of 0s but it still stopped at 24gb.

    Anybody?

I'll try WinDV when I have to get I guess but I'm quite a big fan of AVI_IO and Virtualdub always drops frames.

about 24gb it stopped capturing and said something to the effect of "no more disks found"
You know thinking about it a bit more, that's an interesting number and message, the AVI_IO doc says one of the features is ..
"spread the avi files over up to 24 hard drives or partitions (Drive C - Z)"
it sounds like it might be getting caught up in this somehow.

How many capture files are you getting?

  6. 23 files but when I open the first in VirtualDub it always ask me where the non-existent 24th and 25th files are(more depening on how long i leave avi_io on the errore message)

Also I just tried out WinDV and when I select my device it says "Error Can't find DV Output pin"

Well your AVI_IO problem is sounding more of a limit on the number of files.
I would try increasing the size of each file (you can go up to 4gb per file) and see if you get past 24gb, this is just a quick fix but should let you at least get complete captures.
